Jeremy Cooke - Writer / Director

Jeremy Cooke. You may remember him as director of such films as The Toilet is Running: A Tale of Romance, Greasy Food and Cars, a biography of superstar Frank Mandarin, and the action series Weakling Joe and the Furious Rats of the West End.

But Jeremy did not come into prominence as a writer / director until the premiere of Alien Abduction. Starring Ivan Sohrakoff, the sci-fi epic garnered much praise from the underground-low-budget-alien Film society.

Cigar in hand, Cooke surveys a crop of sexy ladies for his new film: Here's Some Sexy Ladies.
Amidst the complex socio-political machinations of the German production house MediaWerks, Cooke thrived. He rose through the ranks, eventually achieving the rank of Kaiser. It is here that he provided guidance to commrade Alex Mestas, in the dark art of VHS video-making. The two soon formed a creative bond, but any collaborative works were many years off...

Cooke's next project came by way of intensive talks between Jesse, Ivan, and Alex. Seeing the orange lighting at the MediaWerks facility, members of the crew commented on the adult-movie like setting. The Job was born. Written by Jesse DeCarlo and starring (once again) Ivan Sohrakoff and Jeremy's real life love interest, Lorell Gustafson, the film was a technical tour-de-force. It was truly a grass roots success, causing uncomfortable laughter at parties across the city of Davis, California.

Jeremy closes his eyes underneath his sunglasses and meditates, mentally preparing for the Karate and Dance party he is about to throw.

Jeremy and Alex soon began working on more projects. Months past before the script for Sound Machine came to fruition. Abandoning all road trip comedies, crime capers, and time travel fantasies, the two focused all of their many months to developing the story of Rose, Oswald and his machine.

Jeremy has accomplished much more beside writing and director. He is a small business owner, having established the very profitable "Ramshead Productions", the inspiration for which came from an object on the UC Davis Quad.

To sum up the near genius of Cooke impossible. That's a lie. It can be done. We leave you with the immortal words of Ms. Amber Waves who once said this of Cooke:

For Jeremy Cooke, the future is something to look forward to, not to fear . . . He is a creative man of many interests . . . film, poetry, karate, music and dance . . . he is a man of passion and mystery . . . He Is A Man Of Lust.
